Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has declared that she will not be intimidated by death threats.<\/p>\n
Adeyeye, who has been at the forefront of ensuring the safety and regulation of food, drugs, and other consumables in Nigeria, stated that her commitment to public health and safety remains unwavering.<\/p>\n
She emphasized that the fight against counterfeit and substandard products is a critical mission that she will not abandon, regardless of the risks.<\/p>\n
Speaking to news men in Abuja on Sunday the Director General had this to say: \u201cI was in the US for 37 years. I came back home for service. I could have been there, comfortable. And I tell people I came here as a missionary<\/p>\n
\u201cIf missionaries could leave their comfort zones where they were born and live with us in Nigeria, I do not have an excuse to come back home.<\/p>\n
\u201cComing back home is not easy; it\u2019s a sacrifice. I have grandchildren, I have children that I don\u2019t see. So, fear is not part of my daily dictionary.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy coming back is to serve, but that doesn\u2019t mean I don\u2019t use my common sense. I use a lot of common sense, but it\u2019s not just me alone; it\u2019s also about my workers.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was not the one that was beaten and bleeding in Onitsha six months ago because they (NAFDAC workers) were on an inspection operation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is one of our workers. One day, I just looked at her arm and asked: What happened? She said they went on an inspection and she almost lost her life.\u201d<\/p>\n
