Nyesom Wike, minister of the FCT, claims to have seen a video in which a pastor displays images of every judge on the tribunal and instructs his congregation to pray for their downfall. The FCT Minister complained that the opposition had threatened the judges in order to secure a favourable ruling. He said the opposition should not have filed a petition with the tribunal if they didn’t have faith in the Judiciary. He emphasized that if the opposition lacked faith in the Judiciary, they should not have filed a petition with the tribunal.

During an interview with Channels TV, he stated, “You can understand how we have resorted to bullying judges only to get judgement favourable to us. I saw a video of a pastor instructing his congregation to pray against the judges while he displayed their pictures on the screen”.
This behavior is unacceptable, and it reflects poorly on us. It’s disheartening to see public sentiment turning negative, with people putting up signs on the streets as a reminder that the world is watching. What purpose does this bullying serve? People are even gathering in Abuja for protests in the absence of a verdict. If you lack faith in the Judiciary, why bother with the tribunal? We are aware of their intentions, and this is merely blackmail.
