TASUED Shut As Students, Community Clash

There was palpable tension in Ijagun and its environs as the students of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun state clashed with the host community.

Our correspondent gathered that the community has been deserted following the violence that broke up on Sunday morning.

The management of the institution has announced the closure of the school and asked the students to go home till peace would be restored.

Irate Youths Shut Radio Nigeria, Amudulun FM In Ibadan

Angry youths, on Sunday morning, shut down Radio Nigeria, Amuludun FM 99.1 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

A source told The PUNCH Metro that the youths besieged the station and wanted to take over the running of the programme.

An investigation by our correspondent revealed that the stern-looking security operatives have demobilised and chased them out of the station.

Nigerian Govt Releases Seized Norwegian Ship Caught Stealing Crude Oil

The Nigerian Navy on Sunday returned a Norwegian-registered vessel, MT Heroic Idun, caught attempting to steal Nigeria’s crude oil in August 2022.

The navy arrested the oil tanker and its 26 Indian, Pilipino, Sri Lankan and Polish nationals in August 2022, and later convicted them in court and fined $15 million.
