“Somebody Who Has Not Stayed in Office Up to 1 year is Building a University” –Wike Accuses Ayu

In the wake of the internal wranglings plaguing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the executive governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has reiterated calls for the impeachment of the PDP National Chairman, Professor Iyiorchia Ayu, on grounds of alleged misappropriation of funds.

Governor Wike made this disclosure on Wednesday while commissioning the Rumuigbo Internal Road Network in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state, as he urged the residents to only support the governor-elect, Siminlalayi Fubara, and the PDP chapter in the state.

His exact words were, “The people of Obio/Akpor should continue to support our own PDP here. I know my colleague, Senator Bala Mohammed, may not be happy, but sorry, there is nothing I can do about it. I believe that we should have strong leadership. I cannot support people whose interest is only to amass money.”

Wike continued, “I can’t support people where we did congress and we raised about N12.5 billion and within two months the money is gone and somebody who has not stayed in office up to one year is building a university. That’s why I’m saying that this bloody criminal must leave the office if we want PDP to be strengthened. I owe no apologies to anybody. As I have said before, this is the final fight we will fight, and we must win it.”
