Top Nigerian celebrities spreading the PVC message in 2023

The upcoming presidential election in 2023 is rapidly approaching, and several Nigerian celebrities have taken to their various social media platforms to urge their fellow citizens to vote.

The presidential election, which will take place on February 25th, is one of the most anticipated in Nigerian history.

While some of these celebrities have urged citizens to obtain their PVC while endorsing their candidate, others have not publicly expressed their support for these candidates.

However, we highlight some Nigerian celebrities who have spoken out about the PVC collection.

Kate Henshaw

Kate Henshaw is a multi-award-winning Nollywood actress who has worked in the industry for over two decades. Kate is one of the few Nigerian actresses to advise Nigerians to obtain their PVC before the general election.

In a video posted on her Instagram page, she stated that Nigerians should begin to take charge of what they want their country to be. Kate also wrote, “No more words!!” while expressing her rage. I’m just too irritated this morning… Is this the life we have in Nigeria?”

How did we allow things to get so bad? People are in pain, and no one cares!!!! We can’t keep going like this!!!” Enough already!!!

Falz

Folarin Falana, a Nigerian rapper, activist, lawyer, and actor known as Falz, is one of the entertainers who has urged Nigerians to obtain their PVCs.

Falz is one of the few Nigerian celebrities who is also an activist in addition to being an entertainer. The musician, who took part in the 2020 #ENDSARS protest, has also urged Nigerians to obtain their PVCs ahead of the general elections.

Falz also went on to organize a free concert in Lagos and Abuja to encourage Nigerian youths to register for the elections.

Mr. Macaroni

Adebowale Adebayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, is a popular Nigerian comedian and actor.

In terms of PVC collection, Mr Macaroni merged with Falz in June 2022 to host a concert in Lagos and Abuja titled “Youths vote counts.” Nigerians were only allowed entry into the concert with either their PVC or Temporary Voter’s Card.

Mr. Macaroni has also created a series of skits and visual content in which he discusses the importance of obtaining a voter’s card.

P-Square

Peter and Paul of Psquare have also advised several Nigerians to obtain a voter card ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.

Aside from informing Nigerians about the importance of obtaining a voter card, the duo had also expressed their support for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

In June 2022, Peter devised a new strategy in which he used his social media account to warn his family, friends, and coworkers not to visit his home without their PVC.

M.I Abaga

Jude Abaga, better known by his stage name M.I, is a Nigerian rapper and record producer.

M.I is also one of the few celebrities who has urged Nigerians to vote in the upcoming general elections.

The rapper is one of the few advocates for a functioning system in the country. He has been tweeting about the need for Nigerians to obtain their PVC on his Twitter page.

Along with Falz and Mr Macaroni, the rapper was one of the Nigerian celebrities who hosted a concert in Lagos and Abuja.

Nengi

Nengi, an ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, has also advised Nigerians to obtain their PVC.
Nengi, a media personality, has urged Nigerians on several occasions to obtain their PVC and understand its importance. He has also stated that there is a need to vote out the current administration ruling Nigeria.

Ade Adunni

Adunni Ade is a well-known actress in Nollywood.

The bi-racial veteran actress also took to social media to urge Nigerians to obtain their permanent voter’s card. According to her, it is ideal for Nigerians to fulfill their civic responsibilities through political participation.

Adunni also stated that Nigerian citizens must go get their voter’s card and participate in deciding Nigeria’s fate.

She had also stated that the upcoming general elections would be her first in Nigeria.
