PDP Begs Wike As Gov Alleges Betrayal, N1bn Bribe

There were indications that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was begging the Incumbent Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, after he made some allegations against the Chairman of the National Working Committee (NWC), Iyorchia Ayu.

The Rivers governor, who had spoken during an interview yesterday, alleged that Ayu met one of the Presidential aspirants, and collected N1billion to sponsor the party. He dared Ayu to deny collecting the N1billion, which was never paid into PDP’s account, as he promised to name the aspirant, who gave the Chairman the money.

The Rivers bigwig revealed that Ayu manipulated the Presidential Primary Election of the PDP. Wike alleged that Ayu made sure that Atiku Abubakar emerged the Presidential Candidate, because of his personal ambition to become the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Wike, who revealed how Ayu betrayed him, said the Chairman put pressure on governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Bukola Saraki, and other Presidential aspirants to step down for Atiku.

But there were indications that the PDP was begging Wike, as the party, through its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said it was unnecessary to sanction Wike, since he had been pursuing a course. The PDP spokesperson noted that Wike has been one of the staunch members of the PDP, and that the party could not sideline him. He called for a reconciliation.
