Police arrest seven suspected kidnappers in Kaduna

Seven alleged kidnappers were arrested by Operation Safe Haven police on Wednesday at Mariri in the state’s Lere Local Government Area, according to Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.

He claimed that the townspeople reportedly lynched an accomplice.

The suspects were named by the commissioner as Musa Adamu, Abdullahi Usman, Suleiman Hasidu, Usman Jibril, Saidu Isah, Hassan Abdulhamid, and Idris Sani.

“One Hajiya Bilkisu, a suspected collaborator who had been lodging the arrested persons, was sadly killed by members of the village as she tried to escape,” he claimed.

The commissioner went on to say, “Security services have informed the Kaduna State Government that seven alleged bandits have been detained in the Mariri community in the Lere local government area.”

The report states that the arrests came about as a result of persistent intelligence gathering. A kidnapping gang was busted by Operation Safe Haven troops after they acted on reliable intelligence.

The Kaduna State Government took note of the report with satisfaction and applauded the army for acting quickly on reliable intelligence gathered. The security services were encouraged by the government to conduct a complete investigation into the accused.
