APC loyalists protest Muslim-Muslim ticket

Some stakeholders and supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress on Monday took to the streets of Lagos to protest the party’s stance on the contentious Muslim-Muslim ticket.

The demonstrators, under the aegis of the Coalition of APC Stakeholders Network and Southwest Supporters of Tinubu, began their peaceful walk from the popular Shoprite Shopping Mall in Ikeja to the State House in the Central Business District area of Alausa.

Chanting solidarity songs, the protesters walked through the heavy traffic created by the demonstration while displaying several banners that read “Dear Baba Asiwaju, Let Shettima Step Down in Yoruba interest,” “President Buhari and Tinubu should rethink Muslim-Muslim ticket,” and “Tinubu, replace Shettima with Christian VP to balance the ticket.”

Many Killed As Police Clash with Terrorists

The Nigeria Police Force, Katsina State Command, on Monday reportedly killed many terrorists and injured several others during an attack on Dadawa and Barkiya communities in the Kurfi Local Government Area of the state.

This was made known by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Gambo Isah in a statement.

According to the police spokesperson, 110 domestic animals were recovered from the terrorists when the attack was foiled in the two communities in President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state.

Keep off Nnamdi Kanu’s Case, 52 N/Groups Tell UN

COALITION of 52 Northern Group, CNG, has warned the Federal Government to be wary of the United Nations, UN, interest in the case of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The CNG equally cautioned officials of the UN to keep off Nigeria’s internal affairs, particularly Kanu’s case.

This is even as the 52 organizations accused the Nigerian Labour Congress of deception, saying that its failure to execute the threat to embark on a 3-day nationwide strike two weeks after its public protest over the rift between the government and the university lecturers was merely an attempt to gain social power and political influence ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Anxiety as gunmen kidnap Nasarawa information commissioner

The Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism in Nasarawa State, Yakubu Lawal, has been kidnapped by gunmen who stormed his residence on Monday night and whisked him away to an unknown destination.

The PUNCH gathered that the incident, which occurred in the Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state and was greeted with sporadic shooting, lasted for thirty minutes without any help from security agencies.

A staff of the Government Science Secondary School in the same LGA, Auta Nasela, was killed on Saturday by gunmen on the school premises and another staff sustained injuries during the attack.

Zamfara community guards receive vehicles, motorcycles

Governor Bello Matawalle has procured 20 Special Purpose Vehicles and 1,500 motorcycles to support the operations of Zamfara Community Protection Guards.

He announced this during a state-wide broadcast on Tuesday in Gusau after an all-night expanded Security Council meeting.

The governor said that the vehicles and motorcycles were fully equipped with lawful weapons for the smooth take-off of the community protection guards.
