It has just been gathered from a reliable source that Mr. Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State just recently distance himself from an alleged suit said to have been filed by him seeking the removal of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar in the next year’s presidential election. It should be recalled that some few hours ago, it was making headlines on some media outfit who reported that Wike had ordered that PDP’s flag should be removed from the government house in Rivers State, which also turned out to be false.

It will interest you to note that in an exclusive chat with THISDAY, it was gathered that Governor Nyesome Wike denied knowing anything whatsoever about the alleged suit. He disclosed that he doesn’t even know the lawyers who file the suit in the first place. In his words, he said he doesn’t know about the so-called suit. “I didn’t ask anyone to file any suit for me.”

It will interest you to note that one of the news making the rounds on Friday morning was that Mr. Newgent Ekamon a PDP chieftain and Governor Wike had filed a suit in court seeking to remove Atiku Abubakar as the PDP’s presidential candidate in the next year’s general election. The purported file suit was marked FHC/ABJ CS/782/2022.

According to THISDAY, Wike who just recently denied the suit filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja described it as the handiwork of mischief makers who want to use him to score a cheap political point. He stressed that he doesn’t know any lawyer. He added that he is not a kid to be filing suit at this time. He said he had 14 days after primaries within which to file any suit, he didn’t do that then, is it two months after primary I will file a suit?

On the issue of bringing down the PDP’s flag from the Rivers State Government House, Wike said it is all false and propaganda. He said some people are just trying to use him to win the election. All are lies and should be disregarded.
