LP Odigbo As Presidential Campaign Team Head

A renowned Economist, Prof. Pat Utomi, has announced Mr Charles Odigbo as the leader of the communication team for the Labour Party campaign team.

Utomi made the announcement at a special announcement session of the Media Team for the Peter Obi Campaign team held in Lagos on Thursday.

According to him, the team comprises of media veterans who are professionals, passionate and committed to the Nigeria people.

Amaechi’s Ally Defects To PDP

Chris Finebone, a long-standing ally of former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Finebone, who was the publicity secretary of the APC for years, confirmed his defection to Daily Trust in the early hours of Friday.

Soludo Suspends Nnewi North LG Chairman Over Wife’s Death

Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has suspended the caretaker committee chairman of Nnewi North local government area, Hon Mbazulike Iloka, over his wife’s death.

According to sources, Iloka’s wife, Chidiebere, was slumped and died after serving her husband breakfast on Sunday.

College Lecturers Suspend 2-month Strike

The Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, (COEASU) lecturers have suspended their ongoing strike for a period of 60 days.

COEASU President, Dr Smart Olugbeko and the General Secretary of the union, Dr Ahmed Bazza made the announcement in a statement on Friday.

The strike was called off following “enormous progress” made at the ongoing renegotiation with the Federal Government.

2023 Census Will Tackle Insecurity, Poverty- Buhari

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, said the planned 2023 population and housing census would give better structure to the government’s fight against poverty and insecurity.

This was as he lamented the dearth of up-to-date information since the 2006 census which, he argued, has impeded the country’s national planning.
