I’ll Continue To Speak For Nigeria – Sanusi

The deposed Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, says he will continue to speak and air his views to defend and rebuild Nigeria.

Sanusi, who is also the current Khalifah, Tijaniyat Movement of Nigeria, said this in Abuja on Saturday at a stage play titled “Emir Sanusi: Truth in Time.’’

The play was written by a professor of Drama at the Redeemer University, Ahmed Yerima, and produced by the Executive Chairman, Duke of Somolu Productions, Mr Joseph Edgar.

The 14th Emir said he had what it took to contribute to nation-building because of his long history of service to the country.

He said he served as the Chief Risk Officer at the United Bank for Africa, and at First Bank, and also as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria; as Emir of Kano for six years and Khalifah, Tijaniyat Movement of Nigeria.

Terrorits Attack Plateau, kill Herders, Abduct Others

Terrorists have again attacked herders in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, leaving many dead and others missing.

The Military Special Task Force ‘Operation Safe Haven’ confirmed the incident.

Major Ishaku Takwa, the spokesman of the Military Special Task Force of Operation Safe Haven, who confirmed the attack, explained that officers trailed the bandits, during which the bodies of some of the victims were recovered in the bush.

Tinubu Sees Presidency As Life Entitlement, Says Melaye

A former Kogi Senator, Dino Melaye has said the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu sees the office of President as a life entitlement.

He added the reason Tinubu is eyeing Aso Rock Villa is because he sees it as a retirement benefit for supporting President Muhammadu Buhari to be the nation’s leader in 2015.

Melaye, who is the spokesperson for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, made these statements in a video he made and posted on his Facebook page on Saturday.

Osun Police Disbands CP Surveillance Squad

The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode has ordered the immediate disbandment of CP’s Surveillance Squad.

The order took effect from Saturday, August 6, 2022.

In a statement signed by the Osun Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, the dissolution is coming on the heels of complaints of unprofessional conduct exhibited by the personnel of the squad.
