The Russian billionaire took over the club in 2003, and he transformed them into a world-class team by spending a lot of money on signing many big-name players to the men’s and female teams, and also made their academy become one of the best in the world, and the club has won a whole lot of trophies and awards during his 19 years reign as the owner. ‘It has been nearly three months since I announced my intention to sell Chelsea FC. During this time, the team has worked hard to find the right custodian for Chelsea FC that would be the best positioned to successfully lead the club into its next chapter.
‘I am pleased this search has now come to a successful conclusion. As I hand over Chelsea to its new custodians, I would like to wish them the best of success, both on and off the pitch.
