In the statement, Abramovich revealed that he has been searching in the last three months for the next right custodian who will lead the club to more success after his departure, and he is happy that the search has finally come to a successful ending as he has finally handed over the club to Todd Boehly’s led consortium.

The Russian billionaire took over the club in 2003, and he transformed them into a world-class team by spending a lot of money on signing many big-name players to the men’s and female teams, and also made their academy become one of the best in the world, and the club has won a whole lot of trophies and awards during his 19 years reign as the owner. ‘I am pleased this search has now come to a successful conclusion. As I hand over Chelsea to its new custodians, I would like to wish them the best of success, both on and off the pitch.
