Innocent ECD Children Forced Out of Class in Bomet County by Angry Unpaid Contractor

Young children of Cheloino ECD center, Konoin sub-county  in Bomet county were forced out of class this morning forcing their class to a sudden stop in a dramatic way .An angry contractor who claim to have constructed the classroom and has not been paid since 2020 asked out the children in a bid to teach the county government a lesson.

The contractor with rage stormed the school at around 10 am finding the innocent children in class with their teacher. The contractor called out to the teacher asking her to halt the teaching until he is paid. Obliging, the teacher asked the pupils to go out and play as the contractor sealed off the class with timbers. He then hung posters with the message “pay contractors first, he is also human”

The contractor accused the county governor Hillary Barchok of boasting of complete ECDEs and yet the contractors who saw to its completion are languishing in pain out of debts. He claimed that his payment was delayed because he was branded an ally of Isaac Ruto.

The dramatic scene has badly exposed the county government, locals took to social media to condemn it asking the administration to carry the blame for the trauma the innocent kids were put through.

“Pay the contractors, health providers, and others, county employees, before they show you the door come August,”
