His name is Wachira Waruru. Wachira is the son of the late former MP for Nyeri town, Waruru Kanja, who served for the longest period during Moi’s era. He is the current managing director of number one media platform in East Africa, Royal Media Services that owns 3 television channels like Citizen TV and Inooro Tv with 13 radio stations e.g Egesa FM, Mulembe, Vuuka, Ramogi, Hot96, Radio citizen among others.<\/p>\n

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from University of Nairobi. After finishing university,he didn’t venture into teaching but rather decided to go into media as his passion. He started his career as a reporter for Nairobi Times newspaper. From there is when he rose to ranks and got employed to be the editorial director for Standard group in 1998 where he worked for five years. He then moved to KBC as the managing director and also at Kenya Film Commission from 2003-2006. In 2007, he was appointed as the Chairman of media council of Kenya by government and in the same year is when he joined Royal Media Services as the managing director.<\/p>\n

Since then, he has made a very positive impact to the as he introduced high quality dramas like Tahidi high and even revamped Citizen News bulletin. This has made citizen to be the most watched television channel in the country. He also launched Inooro TV, Ramogi TV, Viusasa and the royal media Skiza tune. Wachira has also played a part in curbing COVID-19 for being a member of the COVID-19 emergency response fund which saw him honoured a presidential Uzalendo ward last year. Apart from that, the man is an entrepreneur who owns the famous adventurous Chaka ranch. Chaka Ranch is a recreational facility in Kiganjo, Nyeri County. Chaka Ranch is known for its massive fun activities, quad bikes, buggies, swimming pools among others. Chaka is one of the most reliable Kenya\u2019s leisure parks operating on daily basis with a range of activities during weekdays, weekends, through public holidays.
