Alfred Keter has served as the Member of Parliament for the Nandi Hills Constituency for two terms since the 2013 general elections. He is a fearless politician who is known for speaking his opinion regardless of the consequences.
He grew raised in a family of six children, four boys and two girls, in Ollessos Village, Nandi County.
The second- term MP went to Cheplelachbei Primary School before attending Kapsabet High School to get his O- levels. The legislator was well- known for orchestrating numerous strikes within the institution. He organized pupils to participate in a walkout when he was in Form One, earning him a one- week ban. He was punished again in Form 3 for sneaking out of school to party with his mates. After an argument with a chef over food, he was eventually ejected in form four. As a result, he was obliged to take the KCSE outside of school.
Despite this, he did well in school and was accepted to Egerton University, where he was expelled after initiating a strike in his second year. He challenged his expulsion in court, but the institution dropped the case, and he was reinstated.
He returned to the countryside after finishing university before eventually relocating to Nairobi, where he began his business. He worked as a tout before taking over as manager of Eastleigh’ s number nine matatus.
He ran for the Starehe Constituency parliamentary seat in 2007, but was defeated. Never one to give up, he ran for the TNA’ s Nandi Constituency parliamentary seat in 2013 and won.
He successfully defended his seat in 2017.
Away from politics Keter is quite a family man. He is married to a beautiful lady known as Joan.
The couple is blessed with three kids, all girls.
Joan Keter maintains the majority of her personal details private and out of the public eye, in contrast to her husband, who is always in the public eye due to his status as a politician. She is a successful businesswoman and real estate developer, but she keeps her family largely out of the public eye.
Joan Keter has always been a staunch supporter of her husband in his various political and life endeavors, even in the face of tremendous adversity, with her primary goal being to see her family succeed. It’ s obvious that Alfred Keter’ s political schedule is exceedingly busy, but that’ s the life of a politician, which is why Joan always steps up to be with their children.
