Why Eugene Wamalwa Has Hosted Kikuyu Elders at Kitale Home

DAP-Kenya party leader Eugene Wamalwa recently welcomed the Kikuyu Council of Elders to his home in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.

The elders had visited to pay their respects at the final resting place of the late Vice President Michael Kijana Wamalwa, a highly respected leader and statesman.

The meeting took place at the Wamalwa family home, where the mausoleum of the late VP is located.

The Kikuyu elders came to honour the memory of Kijana Wamalwa, who is remembered as a national hero and symbol of unity.

The visit was also meant to strengthen cultural ties and promote peace and understanding between communities.

Eugene Wamalwa warmly received the elders and thanked them for making the journey. He said the visit was not only a great honour to his late brother’s legacy but also a show of the continued unity among Kenya’s diverse communities.

He praised the elders for their role in promoting traditional values and harmony across the country.

Speaking during the visit, the Kikuyu elders described Kijana Wamalwa as a visionary leader who believed in fairness, development, and national unity.

They also encouraged Eugene Wamalwa to carry on with the work his brother had started, especially in bringing communities together and building peaceful partnerships across Kenya.

The ceremony included a guided tour of the mausoleum, moments of prayer, and the sharing of traditional blessings.

The elders also planted a symbolic tree near the site to mark their visit and honour the late leader’s contribution to Kenya’s history.

Eugene Wamalwa used the occasion to call for continued unity among Kenyans, especially as the country prepares for future elections.

He said Kenya belongs to all its people, and leaders must work together regardless of region or tribe.
