Here is Why Bumula MP Jack Wamboka is Angry With Top Leaders From Western Kenya Region

Bumula MP Jack Wanami Wamboka has launched an attack on senior political leaders from the Western region, accusing them of decades of political stagnation and failure to deliver development to the people.

Speaking at a burial ceremony on Saturday, Wamboka expressed deep frustration at what he described as a leadership crisis in the region, blaming veteran politicians for prioritizing political lobbying and personal interests over meaningful transformation.

“We’ve had leaders from this region rallying for unity since I was in school. The same message was being preached when President Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta were still students. Yet, somehow, those other leaders ascended to the highest offices in the land while ours remained stuck in the same cycle,” he lamented.

The DAP-K legislator said the region’s economic prospects were on a downward spiral, pointing to the controversial leasing of local sugar factories and the reemergence of business magnate Jaswant Rai in the region’s key industries.

Calling for generational change, Wamboka challenged long-serving politicians to step aside and allow new leadership with a fresh approach to take over.

“It’s time for a different kind of politics, one that doesn’t just revolve around endless meetings and calls for unity without action. Our people deserve results, not rhetoric,” he added.

Wamboka’s remarks come amid growing political activity in Western Kenya, as talk of a 2032 presidential bid from the region gains momentum.

Just last week, Sirisia MP John Waluke proposed that either Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi or National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula should be considered for the presidency once President Ruto’s term ends.
