In 2005, Eddie Guerrero competed in his final fight and defeated Mr. Kennedy.
The victory earned him a spot on Team SmackDown for the 2005 Survivor Series.
Due to heart failure, Eddie passed suddenly in his hotel room.
At the Marriott Hotel City Centre in Minneapolis on November 13, Eddie’s nephew and fellow WWE Superstar Chavo Guerrero noticed him unresponsive.

Subsequently, Eddie Guerrero’s autopsy indicated that his sudden heart failure was caused by atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Eddie was “just clinging to life” when he was discovered, according to Chavo Guerrero, who said this in an interview for Dark Side of the Ring in 2020.
