A 45-year-old pastor was on Saturday morning found dead inside a woman’s house in Kirinyaga County.
According to police statements on the matter, the deceased, identified as Haron Mwatela checked at the woman’s house on Wednesday evening before his lifeless body was found lying in bed.
Neighbours said that the pastor has been seen in the woman only identified as Esther’s house on several occasions and speculation is rife that she was a mpango wa kando.
“The deceased’s lifeless body was found on Saturday morning sprawled on the bed inside the room,” the DCI said.
Neighbours added that they had no clue that the man who always visited Esther’s house was a man of the cloth. They all knew him as her boyfriend.
Neighbours who made the discovery told the police that they found some unused condoms in the pocket of his trouser but the woman is nowhere to be seen.
The incident attracted a huge crowd amid claims he may have died of a heart attack caused by sexual enhancement tablets.
The police collected the items to help establish the root cause of his death.
A manhunt for the woman who is now on the run is ongoing.
“The deceased’s body has since been transferred to the hospital morgue awaiting postmortem,” police said.
