Kitui Central MP Makali Mulu has fumed infront of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as he gives options for him to support the Finance Bill,2023.He has now demanded that the government must drop the housing levy for him to pack it up.
According to the vocal MP ,the government should not force the finance bill on Kenyan le. Kenyans instead should be given an opportunity to choose what they feel is best for them.
The MP has suggested that something bad should not be forced on people. If most Kenyans find the housing plan unpopular then the government should drop it and come up with a better plan.
He has also warned against excessive taxation by government,saying that Kenyans will be driven to extreme poverty, because anything small they get always ends up taxed.
However,to avoid excessive borrowing,the country must increase its taxes to fund the budget. This is the only option left for President Ruto’s government.
