Political Commentator Professor Herman Manyora now claims that the Azimio La Umoja one Kenya Alliance leader Raila Odinga, despite at one time working with President William Ruto in the ODM party, he does not know the Head of State well as an individual.
Through his You Tube on Friday, Manyora says even though Raila is politically smart and has organic support from his followers, he has never faced a smarter politician like Ruto, and that was the reason the Azimio camp have had challenges in pushing their demands.
The University of Nairobi lecturer went on to note that Ruto is not among the politicians who can be coerced and cornered to do what he does not want, and that if Azimio is planning to use pressure in their demands, they will end up failing.
“Raila is smart but the problem with him and his camp is that he has been playing politics in a manner that has been leaving President Ruto on top. I think these people do not know Ruto well, Ruto the person.”
“Raila should first understand Ruto. He should know that Ruto is smarter than any other opponent he has faced in the past. President Ruto is a dare-devil politician, and when you are facing someone like Ruto, you should be smart and have strategies to match his moves.”
“Pressure can make some people like Presidents Daniel Moi, Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta bent, if you apply the same tactic on President Ruto, you will end up failing,” said Manyora.
On the bipartisan talks, Manyora argued that the more demands and ultimatum the Azimio camp gives Ruto, the more it works in Ruto’s favour since he will keep buying time and running the government as nothing is happening.
