Siaya County governor James Orengo has caused laughter in Gem after he has alleged that the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua allegedly looks like someone who comes from Rift Valley region though he didn’t bother to name who the person is.
In his statement, Orengo has disagreed on the idea that Gachagua is also one of the freedom fighters popularly referred to as the Mau Mau which majorly emanated from Mount Kenya region.
According to him, he doesn’t believe Gachagua belongs to the Mau Mau as he has been claiming in the recent days.
He has further alleged that the reason he has dismissed the idea is because of how Gachagua takes after someone from Rift Valley. He then stated that those who looks like Mau Mau are ODM party leader Raila Odinga and Martha Karua.
“Gachagua you cannot be a Mau Mau. Does a Mau Mau look like Gachagua? Do you see the face of a Mau Mau in Gachagua? Infact some people tell me he looks like somebody from the Rift Valley somewhere. A Mau Mau is somebody like Martha Karua and Raila Amolo Odinga. Gachagua you are a homeguard who is killing his own people. You cannot be a freedom fighter and preach the messages that you are preaching to us,” said governor James Orengo
