A sombre mood engulfed Githioro area, Nyandarua county as friends and relatives paid their last respect to a police officer.
Jesse Wainaina Mugo died after a short illness.
In line with the tradition of mourning a departed officers, colleagues Mugo with a 21 gun salute.
In a tearful burial, colleagues paid tribute to the late officer even as they described him as a hardworking man, courageous, a listener, loving and God-fearing.
Religious leaders in the region also attended the funeral to pay their last respects to the departed officer who was also involved in church activities.
His relatives described him as a great friend and a pillar of hope in the family.
In response to an appeal from the family led by the late officer’s wife, the National Police Service promised to give a chance to one of the fallen officer’s son during the next recruitment exercise.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
