Nitaenda Wapi Sasa- Kisumu Trader Laments After Protestors Stormed His Supermarket And Looted Goods

A Businessman in Kisumu has bitterly lamented after rowdy Protestors broke into his supermarket and looted it leaving the shelves empty.

This happened on Thursday, 30th March 2023 when Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party Supporters held Demonstrations against the high cost of living in accordance with the order by former prime Minister Raila

The Protestors broke into the Jamia Supermarket where they looted properties whose value is yet to be established.

Speaking after the incident, the Businessman wondered what he had done to the Residents of Kisumu to loot his properties that much. He noted that he has got kids to feed and other important issues to attend to yet he has been left empy handed after the looting.

However, he accused the police of doing completely nothing to protect him, he said that he made several calls to the OCS but he got no help. The Police who were nearby came but just left without doing anything.

This happened even after Raila and team promised that the Protests would be very peaceful and no properties would be Destroyed.

The looting in Kisumu has many condemned by a number of Kenyans who were quick to react. Below are some comments by Kenyans;

Kevin Kiumbe: Let luos burn Kisumu, small towns like kericho will be alternative investment hub for the region. Very unfortunate that azimio/odm is now a luo faction masquerading as a national party. Nobody is burning and looting their backyard except the luo community.

Ja Kochia: I want to speak to the Luo Nation. Please don’t destroy any private property, we need more investors by doing this we are chasing them away. We can’t be staying in slums in Nairobi all our lives. We need to build our towns. Do demos, don’t loot anything.
