The Bungoma police’s decision to deny Azimio’s request for a permit to conduct demonstrations in the county starting on Monday is the most recent bad news for them.

While denying the Azimio team’s request, OCS David Odongo of the Bungoma Police Station stated that he could not grant a permit for the planned demonstrations due to security reasons.

He asserted that they have knowledge of other interested parties’ intentions to launch a counteroffensive during the anticipated Azimio la Umoja Protests.

party leaders from the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition in Bungoma after their request to conduct demonstrations beginning on Monday of the following week was denied.

Odongo stated that if Azimio is permitted to engage in collective action, there is a chance that property will be destroyed and lives will be lost. He suggested that the committee think about organizing Demonstrations on different days.
