Twist as Sister of Pastor Found Dead in Artist’s Home Exposes Ksh 700K Debt, Death Threats

The family of pastor Elizabeth Wanjiru, who was found dead in the house of gospel artist Paul Mathenge, better known as Dishon Mirugi, revealed that the two had earlier had a scuffle over Ksh700,000 debt.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, March 22, the family dismissed reports that Elizabeth took her life stating that she had earlier received death threats from Dishon.

Wanjiru’s sister Esther Mugure, stated that her sister loaned Dishon the money to help him start his church with a promise to pay it back.

Mugure stated that the deceased had called her in December 2022, asking her to pay her a visit when she first started receiving the death threats.

She narrated that on Friday, March 17, Wanjiru informed her that she was going to Dishon’s house in Kahawa West to get her money back but feared for her life.

“In December, she asked me to see her and I travelled from Isinya to Nairobi. She informed me that she was receiving threats from Dishon Mirugi.

“She called me on Friday and told me that she feared for her life because she was going to the house of the gospel artist to get her money back,” Mugure Narrated in tears.

After the call on Friday, Mugure attempted to reach her sister in vain noting that all her calls went unanswered.
