Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have reportedly emerged as frontrunners to sign Monaco centre-back Axel Disasi in the summer transfer window. The Premier League is believed to have started holding discussions with the player’s camp.

The 25-year-old has established himself as a regular starter for the French outfits having racked up 28 appearances registering two strikes and setting up three more in the process. Monaco are on the brink of securing a top two finish in Ligue 1.

Disasi made his international debut for Didier Deschamp’s side in November against Tunisia. He also managed two appearances at the 2022 Qatar World Cup the finals against Argentina.

Footmercato reports that Manchester United are on the brink of signing the 25-year-old in the summer despite the player being contracted to Monaco until June 2025.

The report further suggests that the player’s camp has held discussions with United representatives in England two weeks ago over a potential deal in the summer.

Erik ten Hag’s men will be back in action against the Magpies at St James park after the international break. Monaco on the other hand will host Strasbourg as they look to record back-to-back wins in Ligue 1.
