Former Kenya national union of teachers secretary General Mr Wilson Sossion has come out publicly to say that competency based curriculum is inferior.He further said that competency based curriculum will not help streamline education system in Kenya.
He argued that lack of proper planning and lack of funds has made that system of education hard for parents to keep up with while the government themselves are not well prepared for it.In terms of authenticity the former Kenya national union of teachers secretary General said 8-4-4 system was much better than competency based curriculum.
The former KNUT secretary General also said that Kenya should invent an education system of their own rather than copying developed countries who have enough resources to fund that system of learning.Lastly he argued 8-4-4 has so far produced some of the most productive members of the society despite the back stabs that it gets from officials who think competency based curriculum is better.
