Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga featured for his Qatar side Al-Duhail yesterday as they defeated Al-Gharafa 3-0 in the Qatar Stars League.
First half goal from Ferjani Sassi in the 31st minute was not enough as Duhail added two more in the second half thanks to goals from Bassam Al Rawi and Nam Tae-Hee in the 48th and additional minutes of the second half.
From this result; Al-Duhail moved to the top spot on 18 points; a point ahead of Al Arabi and two points ahead of Al Wakra. Both Al Wakra and Al Arabi have played a game lesser than leaders Al Duhail.
So far, after playing eight rounds, Olunga is joint second in the race for this season’s Golden Boot having scored five goals with Angolan international Dala Gelson leading on eight goals.
The Kenyan international captain is keen on defending the golden boot award he won last season after bagging 24 goals.
