One of the things parents have been complaining about the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) is the cost associated with this system of education. The cost and the work overload for parents have been two factors parents have been complaining so much. They have been urging the government to look into this matter before schools are reopened for the new term. President Ruto had promised to ensure that the system is favourable to both lower class and upper class families.
Speaking at state house tonight, the United Democratic Alliance leader said that the decision to go with CBC was good only that we rushed. “I believe that CBC is good. The problem is that it was rushed,” the President said. However, William Ruto assured all Kenyans that the government has hired more teachers who will be implementing CBC. “To ensure that there will be no problems with CBC, we have hired 30,000 teachers who will focus on implementing CBC,” he added. This means that the teachers hired will help in reducing the work overload for the parents at home.
