Kenyan tertiary institutions seems to have invested more in security than many other infrastructures within the institutions. Many institutions have constructed multimillion gates over the past few years, which have not only acted as security measures but also as aesthetic structures. Here are ten tertiary institutions in Kenya with the best main gates.
1.Kenyatta University
Arguably, Kenyatta University has the best infrastructure of all universities in Kenya, and probably East Africa or maybe just buildings. The University benefitted from Professor Olive Mugenda’s tenure reaping big from the leader’s development mindset. Kenyatta University probably has the best gate in Kenya, a gate that cost the institution millions of money. Apart from the main gate, KU also has Gate B and C which are almost of the same value of those of other institutions. Besides the gate and the infrastructures, KU has also been a beneficiary of a couple of government projects. For instance the Thika Super Highway, they’ll have an SBT Bus station right at the gate and are one of the locations destined to get a new railway station by Kenya Railways Authority. A very Lucky institution.

2.Egerton University
Egerton University comes second as an institution with the best or most beautiful gates in Kenya. Egerton’s gate is almost a replica of the KU gate with just some little differences on curves and angles. Egerton is the biggest University in Naukuru County and probably in the whole of Rift Valley region after Moi University

3.Pwani Univesity
The name tells its location, and being the most popular tertiary institution in the region, it must be a beneficiary of a number of government projects. Pwani University comes third as University with the most beautiful gate which of course caused millions to be constructed.

4.Mount Kenya University
The first private institution in my list comes fourth and it is non other than MKU Main campus, which is located in Thika town, Kiambu County. MKU has some of the best infrastructures of all institutions. Their gate is also one of the most beautiful and probably one of the most expensive of all institutions gates in Kenya.

5.University of Embu
Located in Embu County and the biggest institution in the county. University of Embu too has one of the most expensive and beautiful tertiary institution gates in Kenya.

6.Railway Training Institute
Railway Training Institute is the only college in my list, unfortunately. Not so many colleges in Kenya, especially public ones, have some of the best infrastructural developments. Railway Training has most probably been favoured by its location in Capital City hence the rapid infrastructural development and general growth.

7.Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology
Popular as JKUAT, a very popular university located in Juja town, Kiambu County, with a number of hilarious and sad stories behind it. That aside, JKUAT has one of the best gates of all higher learning institutions in Kenya. The green and white paintings on it makes it a unique one too.

8.Daystar University
The second private university in my list is Daystar University located in the heart of Nairobi City. Daystar University gate is a spectacular one with beautiful ancient design. In my list, it comes at number eight

9.University of Kirinyaga
Coming ninth in my list is Kirinyaga county with the name already suggesting its location. Kirinyaga University also has one of the best gates of all Kenyan public and private tertiary institutions.

10.Chuka University
Chuka University is a very popular University in Kenya located in Eastern Province, Tharaka Nithi County. Chuka University gate might not be one of the dream institutional gates, but it still stands out as one of the best. I therefore put it at number ten
