The morning of Sunday 27th March 2022 must have been one of the saddest for Maseno University Students. The comrades of the lake region woke up to the sudden death of one of their own whose name and the registration number are yet to be released by the institution tomorrow morning. Students of the varsity have since suspended peace, opting to engage police in running battles during the protest. The students claim that the body of one of their own was found dumped in a nearby bush. No property was stolen.
The students left their hostels to block the busy road passing by the varsity, protesting the death of one of their own and chanting revival words like ”Comrade power”. Police have been deployed to the region in a bid to calm down the protesting students. The security forces were forced to use tear gas as the process of calming the students proved futile.
