Jubilee Party Plans On A Major Comeback In Mt. Kenya Region Ahead Of August Elections.

Jubilee party has announced fresh claims of a comeback in the Mt. Kenya region ahead of the August general elections. Party Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni revealed plans of a comeback to reclaim its place in the politics of the region. He added that this will be done through ground mobilization and aggressive campaigns to rebrand the party.

The party is undergoing pressure and a threat from William Ruto’s party the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) that risks deeming their hopes and efforts of securing many elective seats in the upcoming elections. William Ruto and his party popularity in the region has taken roots in the region and that’s why it has become difficult for Jubilee to rebrand itself even after last month’s president Uhuru Kenyatta meeting at Sagana.

After the meeting, it was expected that there will be a huge change in the politics of the region and that Ruto’s popularity will reduce. These efforts bore no fruits as more leaders defected from the Jubilee party to UDA. This has made UDA the most popular party in the region even after Uhuru rallied the region to support Azimio candidate Raila Odinga. Will Jubilee succeed in their second attempt to topple UDA in the region?
