Matiangi Make This Relieving Announcement Ahead Of August Polls

The government is preparing itself and working out strategies to ensure that the August general election is conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.

Historically, election seasons have been associated with acts of violence and chaos as politicians and civilians struggle over political differences.

However, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has stated that such will not occur this time, noting that procedures are in place to squash such plots if they occur.

He declared in Kisii on Friday that security services have been put on high alert to ensure that there are no incidents of insecurity during the election.

“We will do all in our power to ensure that nothing like what we’ve seen before happens again. We will go to every length to ensure a peaceful election in this election year “According to The Star, the CS stated.

He also stated that the existing leadership will not attempt to retain power, assuring the public that the transition will be peaceful.

This is welcome news and a huge relief for Deputy President William Ruto and his team, who were worried that Uhuru would refuse to transfer over if the DP won.

They have consistently requested that once Uhuru aired his political views, he guarantee the country that he will pass over peacefully after Uhuru expressed his political dislike for the DP.
