Miguna Miguna, a lawyer based in Canada, has criticised the United States of America for barring Mike Sonko from entering the nation.
The fugitive lawyer then asks the US why President Uhuru Kenyatta has never been sanctioned for graft.
“The administration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris (US president and vice president, respectively) is a farce. They haven’t blacklisted dictator Uhuru Kenyatta, who has plundering Kenya and stashing trillions of taxpayers’ money in offshore accounts, as proved by the Pandora papers, but they are going after Omena (little fish) like Mike Sonko,” Miguna claims.
The former Raila adviser criticized the US, accusing them of selective action because multiple corruption incidents occurred while President Uhuru was in office but no action was taken.
“Has the White House heard about the KMSA, NYS, Eurobond, Anglo Leasing, and other corruption scandals in which Kenyatta, Moi, and their allies took hundreds of billions of shillings?”
“The White House must determine whether it wants Kenyans to think it’s a coverup or not,” the divisive lawyer joked.
Following allegations of corruption, abuse of office and bribery, flamboyant former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and his immediate family were forbidden from coming to the United States.
So far, Sonko has stated that the US decision is a calculated political maneuver to quiet and stifle his political ambitions.
“I received word that the US embassy has proclaimed me and my family to be persona non grata in the United States.” This is a calculated attempt to quiet me and stifle my political ambitions, but I will not be intimidated.” According to Mike Sonko.
