Ideal College scholarship beneficiary receives two awards at UPSA congregation

Accra, Oct. 6, GNA – Mr Isaac Aidoo, a beneficiary of an Ideal College scholarship, received two awards at the 17th congregation ceremony of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

He was adjudged the best student in Actuarial Science and Economics after graduating with Final Cumulative Grade Point Average (FCGPA) of 3.81.

Isaac hails from Senya Bereku in the Central Region. Prior to entering Ideal College, he attended Jehovah Shammah School Complex at Senya Bereku and T.I. Ahamadiyya School at Gomoa Potsin.

He obtained aggregate nine after completing Ideal College in 2014 but could not pursue tertiary education immediately due to some personal challenges.

In 2015, Isaac gained admission to University of Ghana, Legon, but had to abandon it over being sponsored by the Ideal College to study abroad.

“When I was leaving Ghana I did not defer the University of Ghana programme. Since I could not continue, I lost interest in reapplying.

“Ideal College came to my aid. The Director spoke to me and advised that I should go back to school. So in 2021, I enrolled at UPSA for a BSc. Actuarial Science programme,” he explained.

Eleven years after leaving Senior High School, Isaac ensured that the support received from Ideal College yielded significant dividend.

Speaking after the graduation, he attributed the positive results to perseverance and thanked Ideal College for the benevolence.

“The journey has not been easy but it all boils down to determination and hardwork. Ideal College came through for me, and I am forever grateful for the immense support,” he stated.

“While in UPSA, Ideal College sponsored me to take the professional Actuarial Science examination. Currently, I have passed “Exam P” and “Exam FM” from the Society of Actuaries (SOA).

“This means I have qualified to become an Actuary so I am looking forward to opportunities in the industry,” he added, with a broad smile expressing gratitude to his benefactors.

Ideal College is a private secondary educational institution in Accra, started in 2002.
