Speaking on his Peloton series, Our Future Selves, Ashton recalled using a song to help him get his feelings across — which, standard. But it’s the song choice and his way of going about it that makes it odd.
“The first time I told my wife that I love her, was while listening to ‘You and Tequila,'” Ashton said, referring to Kenny Chesney’s 2010 track.

“I might have had a little too much tequila,” he went on, before explaining how that led him to Mila’s doorstep. “I showed up drunk at her house, at like two in the morning, and I just started screaming, ‘You and tequila make me crazy,'” he shared. “And I told her I love her, and she said, ‘Don’t say it if you don’t mean it. Are you gonna love me in the morning when you wake up from this hangover?'”
Yeahhh, on one hand, the simp in me thinks it’s cute how he showed up on her doorstep in the middle of the night to profess his love. On the other, I’m like, not him potentially killing the vibe during such a special moment by being drunk!
But that’s probably the kind of fun and thrill that has kept them going for 10 years, IDK.
