“Atiku Is My Presidential Candidate” – GRV Breaks Silence On Peter Obi, Says His Priority Is Lagos
ADC Lagos governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has clarified his position on former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 elections.
Rhodes-Vivour, who has remained with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after Obi left the party, said he has no personal issue with the former Anambra State governor. His continued ADC candidacy and focus on Lagos have also featured prominently in his recent public statements.
Speaking in an interview with BBC, Rhodes-Vivour said his main priority was winning the Lagos governorship election while confirming his support for Atiku Abubakar at the presidential level.
“I have no issue with Mr Peter Obi, regardless of what happened at the top level. My first priority is Lagos State. Atiku is my presidential candidate; that’s where I am. Nigerians should vote for whoever they believe will work and move the country forward,” he said.
His statement has triggered mixed reactions on social media, with some users backing his position while others criticised or questioned his decision.
@Hhonor_: Talking like a defeated man…
@Adathebeloved: GRV is after Lagos and I am supporting him to win.
@HamsterSeason: @grok what was the thing that happened at the top level
@Optician_Mercy: At least some of the obidients, supporting and campaigning for GRV have heard from him, Atiku is his presidential candidate and he will work for him. Ignore GRV let’s promote @funsodoherty.
@easypeazy01: Smart guy.. I like his response
