‘Let’s give ’em one’ – Inside the Kansas City Chiefs’ locker room as Andy Reid leads Raiders win celebration

The Kansas City Chiefs improved to 4-0 after defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 30-27 on the road. The Chiefs trailed 13-10 at halftime before a 20-point fourth quarter comeback sealed the win.

The Chiefs rallied despite relatively quiet performances from Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Kenneth Walker III rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns, while Tyquan Thornton recorded 111 receiving yards and two touchdowns before suffering an unfortunate ankle injury.

The Chiefs are full of confidence heading into their bye week before their Week 6 divisional clash with the 0-4 Los Angeles Chargers. Head coach Andy Reid and Mahomes were both vocal in the locker room following their victory over the Raiders.

Andy Reid was delighted with the Kansas City Chiefs’ resilient performance as they came from behind to beat the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders were also 3-0 heading into the game, making it a crucial victory for the Chiefs as they looked to take control of the AFC West.

Reid addressed the locker room: “Let’s give ‘em one: ‘How about those Chiefs?’ Hey, I’m proud of you guys for pushing through. You knew it was going to take four quarters. [The Raiders are a] good football team; give them credit. Good football team.

“We love that, though. We love that. Red baby. Sea of red. Alright, now listen, we have a week off here. You have the Chargers coming up when you get back. Take care of yourself. Man, let’s enjoy that flight home.”

Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes was also fired up after leading the Chiefs to victory. He followed Reid with an equally passionate message: “Hey, hell of a win, baby. We keep it going. Chiefs on three. One, two, three, Chiefs.”

Mahomes has been excellent through the first four games of the 2026 season after returning from a long-term knee injury. It already feels as though the Chiefs are once again the team to beat following their disappointing campaign last year.
