Somebody Told Me That Even Bandits Said Nobody Will Put Poster In Birnin Gwari Except APC – Umahi
Minister of Works Senator David Umahi has alleged that a road construction project in the Birnin Gwari area of Kaduna State has brought a huge transformation to the community that even banditry in the area has declined since work began.
Speaking on Channels TV, Umahi said, “There is this Birnin Gwari road in Kaduna State 123 kilometres that we just started. Before, nobody went there because of bandits. Somebody even told me jokingly that even the bandits said that nobody will place a poster there except APC. They are very happy with the construction of that road. And kidnapping activities in the area have reduced,” he said.
Umahi further challenged anyone to identify a stretch of 20 kilometres before Tinubu’s emergence that was free of bad road conditions.
He pointed specifically to the Abuja-Kano corridor, a route once notorious for frequent kidnappings, saying that not a single incident of kidnap has been recorded there in the past two years since construction commenced on the 375-kilometre road.
He added that the project includes solar lighting and CCTV installations along the entire stretch.
Umahi argued that these projects should not be viewed simply as road construction, but as security investments with wide-reaching benefits.
