(7News) — A man was killed after he was hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene at Old Keene Mill and Backlick Roads in Springfield, Fairfax County police said.

The adult pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said the driver fled in what was possibly a white SUV.
Crash reconstruction detectives are investigating. Police said eastbound lanes of Old Keene Mill Road at Backlick Road were closed and urged drivers to use an alternate route.
