Laguna Beach ‘Karen’ hijacks California couple’s romantic engagement

A furious woman was caught on camera trying to shut down a California couple’s romantic marriage proposal — before the confrontation took an ugly turn.

Footage shows a woman confronting a videographer and photographer who were hired to capture the surprise engagement in Laguna Beach.

The unidentified woman appears to approach the crew as they hide from the couple, who are making their way toward a romantic setup on a cliffside park.

“The park is for people who live here and enjoy the park and have picnics,” the woman says in the video. “No, I understand, ma’am, we’ll be out soon,” one of the crew members responds.

“I don’t care. It’s every single f–king weekend and I’m sick and tired of it,” she fires back. The crew tells her they weren’t at the park the previous weekend, but the confrontation continues.

The videographer told The California Post that the incident happened Oct. 2 and said they were working on the proposal when the woman began “harassing” them.

They also confirmed the footage was shot in the Laguna Beach area, although the video does not identify the specific park.

The city of Laguna Beach requires permits for filming, but it was not immediately clear whether the crew had obtained one for the shoot. The proposal itself was anything but low-key.

The couple, who are Latino, were greeted by a setup featuring rose petals spelling out “Will you marry me?” along with a mariachi band and a sweeping view of the Pacific Ocean.

But before the couple could arrive, the woman continued demanding that the production be dismantled.

“Just tell him to tear it down, you’re gonna have to anyway. I am sick of this s–t,” she says adding that she had called the police.

Another crew member asks her to keep her voice down because the couple is almost at the scene. “No, don’t tell me to shh. You shh,” she responds.

The woman, who appears to be walking her dog and claims to live nearby, continues insisting that the setup be taken down. “Tear it down,” she says.

Then the mariachi band begins playing as the couple arrives — and the confrontation takes a much uglier turn.

“Bulls–t. It’s f–king Mexican. This isn’t Mexico either, you motherf–kers,” the woman is heard saying. As she walks past the couple, she yells: “Go back to Mexico.” The proposal lasted less than 40 minutes.

The video has since unleashed a wave of support for the couple and outrage toward the woman, with commenters criticizing her for allegedly trying to ruin what was supposed to be one of the couple’s biggest moments.
