Hafiz Naeem calls for united Muslim response to Gaza crisis

KARACHI : Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has called for unity among Muslim countries and stronger action to protect Palestinians, saying the international community must not remain silent over the situation in Gaza.

Addressing the participants at a Gaza solidarity march on Shahra-e-Quaideen in Karachi, he said the people of Karachi had once again demonstrated their support for the people of Gaza despite facing serious domestic problems.

The march was organised by the JI to express solidarity with Palestinians.

Hafiz Naeem said Israel continued to enjoy strong support from the United States, while the silence of Muslim countries had also contributed to the situation.

He urged Muslim rulers and armed forces to take practical steps to protect Palestinians.
