Iran says it has already responded to US proposals: Baghaei

Iran has already responded to US proposals, while the latest ideas presented by Washington are largely similar to earlier proposals and mainly focus on the nuclear issue, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said.

Speaking at a press briefing on Sunday, Baghaei said Iran wanted the issue of the Strait of Hormuz to be addressed in the negotiations and insisted that the latest US sanctions against Tehran must be lifted.

He said Iran was also considering several points in light of developments following a memorandum of understanding reached in Islamabad.

Some additional points under consideration would also be conveyed to the United States, he added.

Baghaei said Iran was clearly presenting its position and priorities during the negotiating process.

These priorities include addressing issues related to the Strait of Hormuz and securing an end to US sanctions.

The Iranian spokesperson said Tehran remained engaged in the diplomatic process but expected its key concerns to be addressed as part of any potential agreement.
