Prophet Who Was Gifted Cars Worth Millions by Chivayo Breaks Silence on His Death

Prophet Uebert Angel has broken his silence following the death of Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo, who is believed to have died in a helicopter crash along with two pilots and an aide to his wife.

In a heartfelt Facebook post shared on Friday, October 2, Angel did not describe Chivayo as a wealthy donor or a supporter of his ministry.

He called him a brother, an uncle to his children and a true member of his family. Throughout the tribute, the prophet referred to him fondly as Lulu.

Angel wrote that the loss had left him with a pain that words cannot explain. He said there are moments when he thinks of telling Uncle something, only to remember that he is no longer around. Still, he held on to his faith, saying death is not the final word and that he expects to meet his friend again.

He also extended condolences to Chivayo’s family and to the families of the pilots and the aide who died in the incident.

The bond between the two men had long drawn public attention because of the generous gifts the businessman gave to the prophet and his wife, Prophetess Beverly Angel.

In the past year alone, the gifts were said to be worth more than five million US dollars. For Angel’s 47th birthday in September 2026, Chivayo gave him a new Rolls-Royce Ghost worth about 355,000 US dollars, plus 250,000 dollars in cash.

His wife received a matching car. Earlier in the year, the couple also received a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon and a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Reactions from followers were a mix of grief and reflection. Some questioned the circumstances of the crash, while others defended the prophet after critics asked why he had not foreseen the tragedy. One supporter said it is not within his power to see such things unless God reveals them.

Chivayo’s last Facebook post, shared at a religious gathering shortly before the crash near Marondera, carried the caption “The bigger preacher,” which has taken on new meaning since his death.
