1 dead, 1 seriously injured after crash in St. Charles County

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in St. Charles County.

The crash took place around 3 p.m. on southbound U.S. 61 at Dietrich Road. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, one vehicle was driving westbound in the crossover to Dietrich Road. The vehicle crossed the southbound lanes of 61, and in doing so drove into the path of a second vehicle that was driving on 61. The second vehicle hit the right side of the first vehicle. Both went off the road and the second vehicle flipped.

The 29-year-old woman who was a passenger in the first vehicle died at the scene. The 29-year-old woman driving the first vehicle was seriously injured and was taken by medevac. The 50-year-old woman driving the second vehicle sustained minor injuries.
