Tickets for the Glastonbury Festival 2027 have sold out in less than 45 minutes.

After taking a break in 2026, the event will return next year on June 23-27 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.

The general sale tickets went on sale at 9am on Sunday – but sold out by 9.45am.

Posting on Instagram, the festival’s official page said: “Tickets for Glastonbury 2027 have now sold out.

“Thank you to everyone who bought one and we’re sorry to those of you who missed out on a morning where demand greatly exceeded supply.

“There will be a resale of any cancelled or returned tickets in spring 2027.”

See Tickets said: “Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2027 are now SOLD OUT. Confirmation emails are going out now. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets this morning and sorry to those who missed out.”

On Thursday the first lot of tickets – coach tickets – went on sale at 6pm BST, but they sold out in less than half an hour.

General admission tickets for next year’s festival cost £408 – an increase of £29.50 from 2025.

In a bid to prevent touting, Glastonbury customers had to register in advance to buy tickets for the event – and were able to book up to six tickets per transaction.

Once the sale went live, fans were “randomly assigned a place in a queue” rather than having to refresh the holding page.

They were also told tickets found to be purchased through intermediaries would be cancelled.

Tickets cost ÂŁ408 including a ÂŁ5 booking fee per person and ÂŁ11.25 postage per order.

The record for the festival’s fastest sellout time happened in 2014 when the 15,000 pre-sale tickets for the 2015 festival sold out in 15 minutes while the other 120,000 other tickets were snapped up in 26 minutes.

Following a fallow year, the headliners for the 2027 festival are yet to be announced.

Despite heavy speculation from fans, both Oasis and organiser Emily Eavis have confirmed the band are not lined up to perform.

However, she did confirm in August that all of the headliners had been booked.

“We’re very excited about it. It’s all coming together really well,” she said on BBC Radio 4’s PM programme.

The 1975, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts, and Olivia Rodrigo headlined the 2025 festival.

That year, punk duo Bob Vylan and Irish rap trio Kneecap were also assessed by Avon and Somerset Police.

Bobby Vylan, of Bob Vylan, led crowds on the festival’s West Holts Stage in chants of “death, death to the IDF” before a member of Irish rap trio Kneecap joked fans should “start a riot” outside his bandmate’s upcoming court appearance, and led the crowd on chants of “f*** Keir Starmer”.

The 2025 festival also saw surprise sets from alternative pop star Lorde, who played her album Virgin in full, Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi, who played two years after a set at the festival during which he struggled to manage his Tourette syndrome symptoms, rock trio Haim and Britpop band Pulp.

Brat star Charli XCX also headlined the Other Stage on the Saturday while Sir Rod Stewart performed in the Sunday legends slot, bringing out former Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood for Stay With Me, Lulu for Hot Legs and Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall for a performance of his band’s If You Don’t Know Me By Now.
