The 10 people gunned down in the Lwandle mass shooting will be remembered at a community memorial on Saturday, while the gunmen responsible for the mass shooting remain at large.

The memorial at the Nomzamo Community Hall comes six days after gunmen entered KwaNdelu Shisanyama in Vulindlela Street at about 1.46am and opened fire on patrons.

The 10 victims have now been named as Tatenda Clavah, Siyathemba Jilaji, Khululekani Ndlovu, Avuyile Sikweza, Sivenathi Manxiwa, Abongile Hele, Lahluma Klaas, Okuhle Matibane, Ryan Tanaka Kaserera and Yonelani July.

Their names were released after their next of kin had been informed.

Five people died at the scene of the shooting while another five succumbed to their injuries after being taken to medical facilities. Eleven people were wounded.

Ward councillor Xolani Diniso said five of those injured have since been discharged from hospital.

Western Cape police commissioner Lieutenant-General Sizakhele Dyantyi established a multidisciplinary team led by Serious and Violent Crime detectives to investigate the massacre.

Police also increased deployments in Lwandle as detectives searched for those responsible.

Lwandle police are investigating murder and attempted murder cases.

SAPS has not disclosed a possible motive for the attack.
