Final Prayer Request: What Wicknell Chivayo Asked God Before He Died With His Wife

Details have emerged about Wicknell Chivayo’s prayer request before he died in a helicopter crash alongside his wife, Lucy Muteke.

In his final prayer request, the Zimbabwean businessman asked God to watch over him and his family, grant them favour and provide direction as he worked towards his goals.Only days before the tragic crash, Chivayo had publicly praised Nigerian preacher Apostle Joshua Selman after meeting him at a House of Treasures Church Conference.

Chivayo posted about the encounter on Instagram, describing the meeting as a great honour.

He also praised Selman’s teachings, wisdom and spiritual guidance.

In the message, Chivayo spoke openly about his dream of becoming a multi-billionaire and establishing businesses in different parts of Africa and beyond. He noted that money, intelligence and determination alone would not be enough to achieve his plans. He said he also needed prayers for protection, favour and God’s guidance for himself and his family.

Chivayo described his meeting with Selman as a spiritually uplifting experience.

He said the encounter renewed his determination to keep pursuing his goals while putting God at the centre of his life.

The message has since drawn renewed interest following his death, mainly because it was shared shortly before the helicopter tragedy.

Chivayo and his wife, Lucy Muteke, died after their helicopter crashed in Marondera, Zimbabwe, on September 30, 2026.

Other passengers on the aircraft also lost their lives.

Authorities have begun investigations to establish what caused the helicopter to crash.Chivayo’s message has received fresh attention because of its timing.

However, there is no evidence that he had any knowledge that the crash was about to occur.

The post has nevertheless offered a glimpse into Chivayo’s ambitions, faith and hopes for his family shortly before his sudden death.
