All Schools to Close By The Following Date for the December Holliday

Education is one for the largest sectors in the country and it is through it the country gets its best professionals to work in different areas like law, health, education, technology, engineering, agriculture and many others.

Currently education is ongoing at comprehensive schools formerly primary and secondary schools in Kenya. The schools are ongoing with third term activities and this term is the shortest one with an academic year.

The learning institutions opened for third term on Twenty fourth August 2026 and it will run for a total of nine weeks. Unlike the first and second terms that had an half term break, the this third term does not have an half term break because it is short mainly because there will be national examinations that are set to begin soon.

According to the official school calendar that the ministry of education provided early for this year, the third term is set to end on 23rd October 2026.

It means that all the comprehensive and seniors schools will close by 23rd October this month. For the secondary schools, only the grade ten and the form threes will close by the stated dates as the form fours will remain behind to sit for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations.

The form four candidates are set to officially begin their national examinations earlier November and as per the Kenya National Examinations Council, all other non-candidate classes should not be in schools as the candidates will be undertaking their final examinations.
